Highly fluorescent annexin V conjugates provide quick and reliable detection methods for studying the externalization of phosphatidylserine, one of the earliest indicators of apoptosis. Alexa Fluor 488 dye is a superior green-fluorescent dye with spectra similar to fluorescein (FITC).
